How to Find Your Windows Product Key Using CMD
Command Prompt can sometimes retrieve the Windows OEM product key stored in a computer’s firmware. This is most useful on systems that shipped with Windows.
Open Command Prompt
Search for Command Prompt in Windows and open it. Depending on the command and Windows version, administrator access may be required.
Run a Licensing Query
Supported Windows installations can expose firmware licensing information through Windows management commands. If a key is not returned, that does not necessarily mean Windows is unlicensed.
Why No Key May Appear
Some systems use digital licensing, volume activation, or another licensing method. In those cases, Command Prompt may not display a traditional product key.
Do not share your product key publicly. Treat it as sensitive software licensing information.
