What Is a Digital License?

A digital license allows Windows activation without requiring the user to type a product key during installation. Activation can be associated with the device and, in some cases, a Microsoft account.

Open Windows activation settings to check the current activation status. If Windows reports that it is activated with a digital license, you may not need to enter a key during a future supported reinstall.
